Job Description

The Administrative Assistant - Residential Construction Lending  will initiate and record construction loan disbursements, assist with builder approval process for the Bank and maintain supporting documentation.  This position will also assist with permanent financing for residential construction loans originated by the lending staff once construction is complete.

NOTE - This is a 6 month temporary position 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. On construction loans, assists to obtain permanent financing once construction is complete, as directed by the Originator.
  2. Assists with the construction loan disbursement process ensuring that each advance complies with bank policies and procedures, the lien laws and sound construction disbursement practices.
  3. Reviews construction progress and analyzes budgets to ensure that the bank’s security interest in the collateral is continually protected for each loan. Identifies, recommends and applies corrective action for noncompliance or identified risk.
  4. Confirms that disbursement requests for completion of construction tasks correlate to the budget and builder plan. Processes or denies draws based on compliance with the loan document.
  5. Gathers licenses, financials and other supporting documentation in support of the approved builders list.
  6. Adheres to department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all activities.
  7. Provides ad-hoc reports as requested.
  8. Completes, passes and maintains an up to date status for all positional and company required compliance and regulatory courses by assigned due date(s).
  9. Participates in special projects and assignments and performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma and 5 years of previous residential and or construction loan disbursement experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system & Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both orally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of construction terminology, bank processing systems like DMI and Instep, Florida Construction Lien Law and or general building practices is preferred.
    • Experience in using Encompass.
