Job Description

The number one goal is to continuously utilize knowledge from the customer experience to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The Customer Service Team assists our customers in the following ways for first time sellers/buyers:

Exercise due diligence relating to loan inspection to warrant the documentation is consistent with the terms and conditions of FHN’s purchase commitment.
• Schedule the funding of government guaranteed loans/pools with Seller.
• Schedule the delivery of government guaranteed loans/pools with Buyer.
• Act in role of SBA pool Underwriter/Assembler to issue SBA securities. This process involves the conversion of the raw loans into a securitized asset (“the Pool”).
• Work on the DTCC platform to deposit SBA pools into an electronic format (Depository Trust Clearing Corporation is the main registry that tracks all owners/participants in the securities market).
• Coordinate our purchases and sales with FHN’s repo facilities. Each funding source is provided direction by the respective FHN Cashier.
• Work with the SBA’s Fiscal and Transfer Agent (Colson Services Corp.) to determine loan status and establish the initial funding of SBA loans defined as “primary loan fundings”.
• Act as a liaison with all internal personnel – interact with Traders, Trading Assistants, Sales Representatives, Sales Assistants, GGLS Team, Accounting personnel, and FHN buyers and sellers.
• Ensure all transactions clear in a timely manner on the scheduled settlement date.
• Handle additional projects and assignments on an ongoing basis.
Customer Service responsibilities of the position:
The number one goal is to continuously utilize knowledge from the customer experience to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The Customer Service Team assists our customers in the following ways for first time sellers/buyers:
• Educate lenders and investors on the mechanics of the loan sale process.
• Define roles of all participants in the program (lender, investor, FTA, and Governmental Agency).
• Act as liaison between lender and agency to expedite the delivery of loan documentation to FHN Financial Capital Markets.
• Provide and explain the “good delivery requirements”.
• Assist lenders with the completion of the loan documentation.
• Define the settlement process and the timeline from the delivery date of documents to the scheduled funding date (“primary loan settlement date”).
• Provide a sample “standard remittance advice” to send/receive monthly principal and interest payments.
• Provide assistance with amortization schedules.
Problem solving skills required to resolve the following issues:
• Borrower deferment of payments.
• Borrower modifications to terms of promissory note.
• Borrower default and the formal demand process.
• Borrower prepayments and any calculations of penalties that will be assessed and passed through to the respective holders/investors.
• Procedures to document any approved changes to the borrowers’ terms (sample forms will be created and presented for lender review).

• 3-4 years banking, financial, or securities industry experience required
• Bachelors Degree(business or finance) preferred;
Excellent communication skills including composition of letters, memos, or correspondence, strong analytical skills, self starter, excellent customer service/problem solving skills, must prioritize tasks, experience with loan reconciliations, strong knowledge of Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and training capabilities.
