Job Description

Oversees the operational aspects of the Municipal Underwriting and Settlement Operations area for FHN Financial Capital Markets. 

 Municipal Underwriting

  •  Responsible for supervision of Municipal Underwriting and Settlements Operations area team members. Setting job duties and reviewing performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining municipal underwriting files and records to regulatory standards.

  • Responsible for operations related to the muni bond bidding process for competitive and negotiated underwriting.

  • Responsible for the gathering and review of required documents for closing municipal underwriting deals.
  • Responsible for review and balancing of syndicate underwritings, along with distribution of money to syndicate members.

    • Responsible for money cashiering including wires, checks, and ACH processing
    • Works closely and regularly with Compliance Staff to ensure compliance with Regulatory and Compliance Policy.
    • Work with internal and external auditors and regulators to coordinate file reviews and answer inquiries.
    • Remain current with legislation and record keeping requirements of banking and financial regulators including FINRA, MSRB and the SEC. 
    • Track critical performance metrics.
    • Responsible for DTCC and other systems used by the department.

    Requirements:

    •  Excellent oral, written communication skills and interpersonal skills
    •  Strong attention to detail
    •  Exceptional PC skills including proficiency with applicable computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access) Excellent organizational and customer service skills
    •  Ability to work with and meet deadlines
    •  Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
    •  Ability to organize and prioritize work
    •  Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines
    • Prefer a person with a 4 year college business focused degree
    • Prefer atleast 8 years of operations experience including 2 years of management experience.
    • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied
    • Series 99 , or the ability to obtain within 120 days(as required by FINRA)
    • Preferred FINRA series 7 and 24 licenses
