Job Description

The Risk Analyst supports the Corporate Insurance property and casualty program in claims management, insurance program administration, and loss control efforts; also supports the Bank Owned Life Insurance program in claims management and governance reporting; other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•         Review and assess property and casualty insurance claims from initial notification of incident through claim settlement; provide first notice of P&C claims to brokers and Insurers; perform claims investigations; partner with insurers to develop claims strategy, action plans and help set realistic goals for timely claims resolution; serve as a resource for questions and concerns from claimants, employees, management and external vendors.

•         Partner with the workers compensation third party administrator to ensure claims are being adjusted fairly, aggressively and in accordance with our special handling instructions and with applicable law; evaluate initial claims information; assign nurse case manager when needed; act as the liaison between injured employees, management, HR, TPA, nurse case managers, physicians and attorneys to ensure adherence to our workers compensation program; coordinate return to work efforts for injured employees

•         Monitor P&C claims reserves and recommend action; monitor timeliness of claims payment activity; monitor closure opportunities and review settlement requests and recommend action; assist in the coordination of subrogation and recovery activity

•         Maintain complete confidentiality of all claims and other exposures information, including personal and health related claimant information

•         Partner with Corporate Real Estate and other areas to manage third party claims of property damage or automobile damage to FHN exposures; oversee claims adjusting process to completion; track all insurance losses below deductible in Risk Management Information System; provide updates on Operational Losses to Risk Management Consultant

•         Maintain all property and casualty claims data on Risk Management Information System; prepare claims reports for management; identify claim trends related to causation, types of claims, geographic indicators, etc. and develop action plans

•         Conduct quarterly claims review meetings with insurers and brokers; manage third party vendors, including TPA and nurse case managers, against service level commitments

•         Coordinate with internal partners on HR and safety programs and requirements.

•         Ensure compliance with OSHA standards by reporting appropriate claims events and responding to OSHA requests for information

•         Participate with insurers in loss control visits for the Company’s buildings and infrastructure and workers compensation program; review insurer reports and recommendations; work with internal partners to develop loss control plans; monitor loss control plans; communicate plans and results to insurers

•         Responsible for Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) death claims administration; gather materials for BOLI annual meeting

•         Coordinate annual workers’ compensation audits with insurer

•         Process Certificates of Insurance requests

•         Perform other duties in support of Corporate Insurance Risk Manager as required.
