Job Description

Position supports supervisory functions of the Items Processing department.  This includes assisting managing, monitoring and improving the departmental workflow for processing payments received for Items Processing processing.  The position directly reports to the Operations Supervisor – Items Processing and may supervises Specialists, and may be involved in department related projects.

First Horizon Bank has established a load balanced operations to provide seamless processing services in Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity Situations. As such the Items Processing Team Lead must maintain sound and standardized processes within their assigned Operation Center to help ensure that the equal divisions of labor and skill sets at all times to meet the requirements of the active/active support model.  



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the supervision of Specialists.
  • Assists is managing departmental deadlines and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Assists in managing a single processing site and ensure that all processes mirror the alternate site.
  • Work within Business Units to identify and implement process efficiencies by way of process re-engineering.
  • Advise on methods to improve business processes.
  • Assists with the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans to Provide Seamless Service in a multi-site processing environment as directed.
  • Consider the business implications of all Departmental applications to the current and future business environment.
  • Supports the Items Processing Supervisor to maintain appropriate staff in a growth environment by recommending staff additions based on management reporting or new customer additions.
  • Research, identify and develop solutions to problems, issues and new products or processes as directed.
  • Support established workflows to ensure that work is processed in a quality, timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance to audit and regulatory procedures.
  • Support the resolution of internal and external customer problems or issues.
  • As directed or needed, develop, lead or participate on special projects and conversion efforts.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists with directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The following specific education and experience are required which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least 5+ years’ experience in Operations.  Preferably at a medium to large regional bank in multi operations center environment; heavy workflow with Items Processing and currency balancing experience.  Must be a self-motivated team player with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and effectively manage oneself and others in a high pressure environment.
