This is a paid internship!

65% - The Family Office Services Accountant is responsible for handling all day-to-day accounts payable. Areas of focus include: QuickBooks entry, sync with QuickBooks, and monthly reconciliation for clients; New client set-up in QuickBooks as needed; Filing annual 1099's and W-2’s; collecting W-4’s, I-9, W-9's; filing and processing quarterly 941 reports and payments; troubleshoot issues and questions with client bookkeeping; Communicate with Clients’ CPAs on a regular basis regarding cash flow, income, estimated tax payments, etc   Accuracy will be extremely important. 

30% - The FOS Accountant prepares financial statements and reports requested by clients, their CPAs, and their Family Office Services Advisor (financial planner), including but not limited to: Balance Sheets, P&L Statements, Detail Reports for Income and Expense Categories, and Tax Basis for Asset Holdings.

5% - The FOS Accountant will also support the department with other initiatives as determined by the Manager. Duties may include assignment of special projects or any other accounting functions assigned, scanning, preparing spreadsheets, disseminating material and phone coverage.

Job Requirements:

  • Some college required and/or minimum of 3-5 years working experience in a related field.
  • Must have a GPA of at least 2.75
  • Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
  • Proficient understanding of accounting required
  • Above average computer skills are required
  • Excellent verbal communications
  • High level of accuracy and quality
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and work as a team member
  • Proficiency with PC based special applications, knowledge of QuickBooks and/or a plus
  • Work under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
