Job summary

The API Banking Product Manager is an energetic, creative thinker that likes to build products that engage customers and drive business in ways that will improve our customer’s interactions with the bank. This individual will also build products based on APIs or new Financial Technologies (FinTech) that make it easier to do business with the bank and provide our customer’s options with how they use our products.

The API Banking Product Manager is responsible for leading our API Banking product suite. She/he will set feature development priorities, manage product launches and oversee all aspects FHN’s API Banking products and budget in an agile project environment. The API Banking Product Manager will have full responsibility and ownership of the entire API Suite at First Horizon. The individual will research and leverage market and internal performance data, work cross functionally with all areas of the business to ensure FHN’s API Banking products are enabling low cost deposits and opening new areas of revenue potential, increasing customer satisfaction and lowering the cost to serve our customers. In short, the API Banking Product Manager thinks and acts like the CEO of our API banking product line, working each day to create an integrated platform to meet our customer’s needs.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

  1. Be the CEO of your products; own the product strategy and have a perspective on where First Horizon should go next.
  2. Forge relationships with digital engagement companies, FinTech companies, Big Tech, and other companies to connect to First Horizon’s API Banking ecosystem.
  3. Translate product vision into product requirements and work closely with UX, engineering, sales, marketing and customer to successfully bring those products to market.
  4. Will have no direct reports, but will be responsible for managing an agile team’s work and output (8-10 FTE)
  5. Manage live/in production products, communities and customer support.
  6. Develop and use key metrics, usage reporting, feedback and customer advisory panels to constantly improve the customer’s experience.
  7. Own product P & L and share key metric responsibility with business owners.
  8. Research, build and manage product related third party partnerships.
  9. Be a strategic partner to other senior leaders in the organization.
  10. Demonstrate authentic and credible communication with Customers, Partners and all internal Stakeholders.
  11. Collaborate cross functionally throughout the entire company, particularly with your Technology counterparts to define product release requirements.
  12. In partnership with the overall team, be an external thought leader for First Horizon.
  13. Have a keen awareness of customer needs through empirical research.
  14. Track competitors, identify real threats amid the noise and respond with neutralization tactics in the product or via sales and marketing techniques.
  15. Develop processes and systems to keep the product team nimble.
  16. Travel as business requires



  1. Bachelor’s degree required. Masters in Computer Science, or related technology and digital engagement is preferred.
  2. 10+ years’ experience required. Experience in Agile development methodology a big plus
  3. Experience with leading the product development of an API Platform required. Experience with an API Banking platform preferred.
  4. Passion for building great products and leading strong teams
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills needed.
  6. Must be able to work well with teams
  7. Must be a self-starter, be able to independently operate and deliver results

Work Hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
