Job Summary:
The Ruby team is looking for a Cloud Architect! As a member of the Ruby application development and support team, the applicant will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud architecture and systems. The architect will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that technology decisions and blueprints align with best practices and the team’s needs and plans to achieve mid and long-term goals. The architect will lead and guide the development and integration of cloud-based solutions following the modern development patterns and design for high availability, governance, resilience, disaster recovery, etc. The architect will also explore emerging technologies to determine if and how it fits with the overall strategy at Ruby.


• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the application development teams using cloud technology.
• Manage, design, and help develop solutions following industry best practices and methodologies for cloud systems.
• Establish, adopt, communicate and enforce standards and policies for system documentation, best practices and policies that support an optimized cloud environment.
• Keep current with industry trends and development for technologies and assist in evaluating and developing plans for keeping applications current.
• Research and share new trends and best practices within the industry/domain and identify ways to solve business problems. Train and share knowledge with development teams.
• Responsible for strategy & roadmap for emerging technologies.
• Work closely with development team in designing and building solutions that are reusable, quick to market, and lower total cost of ownership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Ruby team operates as an autonomous group and offers a unique opportunity to work within a startup-like environment with the resources of a large financial institution. The position will be based in an offsite innovation lab to enable our team to develop our own culture and operating practices.

Work Hours:
Monday thru Friday
9:00am to 5:00pm Requirements Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 10 years of IT experience; 3 plus years of banking industry experience preferred.
• Preferably willing to relocate to Tennessee, specifically Nashville and surrounding areas.
• Working knowledge of current and emerging cloud technologies.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills, basic project management skills and presentations skills.
• 3 years of experience with developing applications in cloud environments.
• Experience Implementing Online and Mobile Banking solutions.
• Working knowledge of data at rest modeling, normalization principles etc.
• Understanding of SQL and noSQL data stores, Operational data stores, Warehouses and Data Marts.
• Experience in REST service and API standards, technologies and tools.
• Experience with agile SDLC / SW development processes.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud architecture standards, processes & tools, including IT Architecture standards, Technology trends.
• At least 7 years of experience in application systems design, construction, implementation, and maintenance.
• At least 7 years of experience working with technical design process and models.
• Other desired capabilities include cloud computing experience, strategic/global/visionary/ enterprise thinker, critical thinking skills, overall leadership adeptness, relationship management skills, comprehensive communication skills and proven project management wisdom.
