Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager in a senior/experienced role to work with our Commercial Middle Market clients and with a focus on C&I and CRE portfolio management.

Candidate must reside in the Raleigh Market.

This position , a Commercial Portfolio Manager Sr, will partner with local Relationship Managers and provide daily credit analysis support for assigned commercial lending portfolios. Tasks are completed in a production-based environment and include leading the loan structuring, underwriting, origination, and servicing responsibilities for their assigned commercial portfolio. This position will work independently with support from other members of the team, providing mentoring and guidance to junior members of the commercial portfolio management team and working closely with Credit Analysts.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Leading the analysis, underwriting, origination and servicing of loans in a high-production, growing commercial portfolio.
  • Managing complex relationships and ability to understand complex C&I and income-producing real estate (CRE) borrowers.
  • Partnering with Relationship Managers to call on current or potential clients; understands and identifies needs for commercial products and services; develops lending proposals; identifies cross-sell opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining a portfolio mix of targeted high value and high potential clients, ensuring credit quality and portfolio servicing are maintained in an acceptable manner.
  • Partnering with junior members of the commercial team to delegate tasks related to the origination and servicing of the loan portfolio.
  • Providing feedback and guidance in order to develop the skills of these teammates.

Required experience, education and skills:

  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of commercial underwriting and portfolio management experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in work experience) required.
  • Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills. 
  • Proficient with applicable computer software. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
