Job Description

Commercial Banking provides clients, including corporations, municipalities and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $15 million to $2 billion with comprehensive financial solutions, including lending and treasury services. Commercial Banking provides credit, and cash management, solutions to corporations, municipalities and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues of $15 million to $2Billion via our local delivery model.

This role is the focal point of client acquisition and ongoing relationships; Bankers work both independently and as part of a team to introduce our comprehensive solutions.

Our Relationship Managers are required to have deep working knowledge of our solutions including, but not limited to: Credit, Syndicated Finance, International Banking, Treasury Services, Commercial Card and Payment solutions.

Ideal candidate has deep local connections and market knowledge.

Builds and maintains a portfolio mix of targeted high value and high potential clients.

Responsible for generation and management of a profitable loan and deposit portfolio and non-interest income from businesses with annual sales of $15million - $2billion through the development and retention of long term, profitable client relationships.

Responsible for the management of an assigned portfolio of business and mixed household accounts.

Retains and strengthens current relationships and seeks to develop new business through various channels such as cross-sales and working referrals.

Actively participate in various sales campaigns. Meet and exceed sales goals in deposits, loans, fee income and referrals.

Partner with teammates in various specialty product areas including treasury, private banking, employee benefits and international.

Work closely with client specialists to improve and retain client service levels through strong communication and problem resolution.

Manage credit process for all loans requests.

Calls on current or potential customers; investigates customer needs for commercial products and services; develops sales proposals; introduces customers to other departments for cross-sell

opportunities; negotiates with customers on pricing, etc. with senior officer guidance; develops fee income from credit and deposit services; finalizes and closes deals with senior officer assistance.


This position requires a Bachelor's for consideration (or equivalent experience consisting of 6+ years of lending or sales experience in the financial services industry, with demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals); Master's preferred.

Minimum requirement of 10 years commercial direct lending and credit support related experience, plus completion of a formal bank credit training program with demonstrated ability to source and produce efficient credit opportunities preferred.

Preference will be given to locally based candidates with demonstrated experience securing new and managing existing clients in a commercial bank setting.

Demonstrated experience working in a sales & team oriented environment while managing individual goals and objectives.

Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources.

Excellent problem solving, oral, and written communication skills.

Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills. Proficient with applicable computer software. Good organizational and customer service skills. Relevant certifications.
