Job Description

This position will provide administrative support to Commercial and Private Banking Relationship Managers, Mortgage Executives and other Bankers involved with Construction Lending: Commercial, Consumer and SBA. Can operate remotely for the right person.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Construction Administration Support to Bank Personnel involved in Residential Construction Loans
  • Establish, review and maintain appropriate loan accounting records appropriate for various types of construction Loans, in conformity with bank established protocols
  • Maintain updated insurances to meet Bank procedural or Policy requirements to include but not limited to: Builders Risk, General Liability, and Flood Insurance
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with Bankers, Clients, and Third Party Vendors
  • Order and review Property Inspection Reports, Plan and Cost Reviews, Third Party Inspection Reports, Title updates
  • Review and process approved Construction Loan advances
  • Communicate with clients, attorney’s, insurance companies, title companies, and various other professionals
  • Work closely with Bankers, Underwriters, Loan Closers, Loan processing and legal documentation areas to ensure satisfactory closing of loans
  • Work closely with Bankers, Underwriters, and loan operations to ensure satisfactory on-going monitoring of loans
  • Assist in supporting lower level Construction Loan Administrators
  • Works more complex transactions to include SBA transactions (if applicable)
  • Illustrates a working knowledge of Loan Structure appropriate for various types of Construction Loans
  • Maintains project from pre-closing to completion staying in compliance with Bank’s policies
  • Participate in the maintenance and preparation of construction funding projection

Performs all other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities, but may have responsibility to assist in training lower level Relationship Assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required in this position. 

The incumbent must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six years experience in Banking and/or Residential Lending Assistant roles, or transferable skills in Commercial Lending, or at least three years loan Operations experience.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a solid working knowledge of banking and good judgment skills are also required.  The incumbent will be familiar with Encompass and Attorney prepared documents, Also must be:  A Team Player; Well Organized- Able to meet deadlines and goals; a self-starter- Ability to Multi Task; Able to work independently with moderate to little or no supervision; Highly Motivated.  In addition, the incumbent should possess the following:

  • A good working knowledge of Title Insurance, Loan Documentation, Surveys, Insurances and the Banks Construction Loan Policy and Procedures
  • Ability to handle complex projects and multi-level debt structures
  • Extensive experience with all aspects of construction loan administration
  • Ability to understand and work with complex loan budgets

COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS

Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, i.e., Email software (ex. MS Outlook), Word processing software (ex. MS Word), Spreadsheet software (ex. MS Excel), Internet browsing software (ex. MS Explorer), and 10-key calculator and Facsimile machine.
