Job Description

FHN Financial is an industry leader in fixed income sales, trading, and strategies for institutional customers.  Its presence in the US capital markets extends back to the 1920s, and began its national push in the mid-1980s.  Today, it enjoys average daily trading volume of over $5 billion on 1,500 to 2,000 institutional trades.

FHN Financial is seeking a corporate credit analyst in the firm’s headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee.  Work location is flexible during current pandemic conditions, and options of remote work are possible thereafter for experienced candidates. 
Responsibilities include:
* Work with capital markets professionals and senior strategists on industry trends and specific individual credits as needed.  Analysis may include assisting the Economics Group on regional credit projects as it supports corporate clients and relationship managers at First Horizon Bank.
* Develop thematic ideas to identify macro leverage and debt needs across maturities, sectors, and ratings categories.  Themes may include high yield companies as well as investment grade credits.
* Effectively communicate ideas and recommendations with traders, strategists, capital market teams, and derivative specialists.

* Well-rounded credit analysis capabilities with the ability to understand credit and operating risk of corporate borrowers. Experience of 18 months or more is preferred.  
* BA/BS degree.
* Excellent MS Office skills, demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, data management, and presentation within Excel and PowerPoint.

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

* Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

* Progress towards or completion of CFA program preferred.

* Programming skills in scripting language such as Python a plus.
