Job Description

FHN Financial is an industry leader in fixed income sales, trading, and strategies for institutional customers in the US and abroad. We also provide investment services and balance sheet management solutions. With an average daily trading volume of $5+ billion, FHN transacts business with approximately 45% of all domestic depositories with portfolios over $100 million and approximately 50% of all US banks with portfolios over $100 million.  This open position will work directly with our sales representatives and institutional customers in developing investment portfolio strategies to optimize portfolio performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a proficiency in fixed income securities as well as an understanding of bank portfolios and balance sheets.
  • Analyze institutional fixed-income investment portfolios, as well as prospective portfolio restructures, using FHN proprietary applications.
  • Make recommendations to improve portfolio performance or to address risk management issues.
  • Assist customers with regulatory, accounting or tax related issues as it relates to the investment portfolio.
  • Speak at FHN and industry conferences.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Hold a master of accountancy degree and be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
  • 3 to 6 years experience working in the accounting or tax planning industry.
  • Good communication and writing capability.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed worker with minimal need for daily instruction on key tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
