Job Description

Underwrites mortgage loan applications and evaluates loans in order to maximize organizational profit and minimize risk or loss. Monitors property appraisal process.

Provide quality, accurate and timely customer service internal and external.


Reviews submitted conventional/FHA/USDA/VA loans for approval. 
Communicate with processor/originator on decision
Monitor status of loans in pipeline on regular basis; communicate with originators, processors, and operations staff.
Maintains loan submission pipeline; confirm ;
Comply with bank policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and investor guidelines. 
Performs all other duties as assigned
No supervisory responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:

High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of experience as a Processor or Underwriter required, preferred in VA/FHA/government loans


Microsoft Office suite
Special software: Mortgage software (Encompass preferred but not required)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (Ex: CPA, Series 6 or 7 license, etc):
Direct Endorsement Underwriter, VA SAR Approval
