QA Automation Engineer/Consultant

As a member of the Quality Assurance team, the applicant will be responsible for the overall automation strategy and implementation for testing. The role evaluates, recommends, and implements quality assurance strategies to automate functional and regression test cases. This role provides oversight and direction to all automation resources regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Participates in the full product lifecycle including requirements definition and design reviews to ensure that quality is considered throughout the process. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks with minimum direction.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reviews business requirements and functional specifications to understand the functional and technical requirements. Ensure requirements are well defined and testable.
• Ensures appropriate testing methodologies are implemented for each application, including (but not limited to) functional/unit testing, regression testing, stress/performance testing, mobile testing, pass/failure testing and post release validation testing.
• Analyzes and reviews business requirements, scope documents, and detailed functional requirements for proposed features and product changes; determining and providing QA testing effort estimates.
• Establishes fact based measurements of test efficiency, effectiveness and application readiness.
• Works with business partners and development teams to understand project concepts, objectives and approach of software development projects.
• Works with Application Managers and Developers to continually find ways to improve development and release process.
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of automation, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.
• When appropriate, adheres to the standards and best practices within the Agile methodology.
• Supports activities throughout the software development life cycle.
• Communicates status of QA & UAT activities to project teams and IT and business leadership.
• Collaborate with and support IT business analysts and business representatives during the requirements definition process.
• Own automation test frameworks, review tests, look for gaps, and drive improved automation.
• Analyze and identify suitable opportunities for test automation
• Develop automation components/modules using appropriate tools and programming languages
• Develop automation components/modules using parameterized data from an external source (i.e., Excel)
• Execute test automation script/cases, identify/log issues, and provide support during issue resolution process
• Leverage best practices and available automation frameworks to reduce automation maintenance

Requirements Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 5 years of progressive IT Quality Assurance experience required.
• 3+ years of experience in Test Automation including planning, script development & maintenance.
• 2+ years of experience with TOSCA automation tool (AS1 and AS2 certified)
• 1+ years of experience writing automation test scripts using Selenium/Junit framework to address the UI application.
• 2+ Years of banking domain experience preferred
• Working experience of Test Management Tool like ALM, Rally, Qtest
• Working experience in Agile environment is a must
• Experience with SQL, DB2, Oracle Databases
• Strong communication, presentation and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal
• Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
• Experienced in analysis, design, automated testing, implementing and maintaining client/server and web based, Web Service based applications in banking domain applications
• Adhere to project standards and processes to ensure consistent and maintainable automation deliverables.

Days: Monday-Friday; Hours: 8am-5pm
