Job Description

The Scenario Desk Underwriter acts as a resource for Sales and Operations Staff and serves as an integral member of the Mortgage Underwriting team providing opinions and support for inquiries related to underwriting guideline requirements, workflow issues and credit policy.

• Manage the underwriting scenario email box by answering and tracking a wide range of questions from internal associates regarding loan scenarios and guidelines
• Conduct, research and interpret Iberia Bank policies and investor guidelines, ensuring that information provided is accurate and compliant
• Escalate complex scenarios and questions when appropriate
• Responsible for remaining updated on all investor, agency, FHA, VA, USDA guideline changes along with any overlays
• Track and monitor questions into the Scenario Desk mailbox via the Underwriting SharePoint site
• Review, evaluate, and recommend modifications to internal underwriting guidelines and workflows as needed
• Develop trending and analysis tracking monthly regarding the questions/topics and provide feedback to management for FAQ(s) and/or Policy Updates.
• Assistant internal Underwriting staff with condition clearing in heavier production volume times as needed

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least five years mortgage underwriting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, orally, or in diagram form and the ability to deal with problems involving difficult situations are required. Individual must also have good multi tasking skills.

Microsoft Office Suite, 10-key calculator, facsimile machine, typing of at least 40 words per minute, copy machine and telephone
