Job Description

Position Overview
The Senior Facilities Engineer provides support for the Building Operation by operating, maintaining and repairing the various components of the lighting, mechanical, and structural systems. This includes but not limited to boilers, cooling towers, chillers, motors, pneumatic controls, filters, rooftop equipment and pumps.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Operation and preventive maintenance of building systems and computer support systems, ensures all building systems are functioning properly to meet the needs of the building occupants.
• Interface with department Managers about Maintenance request thru our automated work order system.
• Manage landscaping, housekeeping and other vendors; maintains the asbestos operation and maintenance and safety program for the building and keeps necessary records.
• Repairs complex equipment, including automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems and alarms. Installs equipment with minimal instructions. Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, detects and replaces defective parts. Provides technical assistance to lower level maintenance electricians.
Requirements Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
• High School diploma/GED required for consideration
• 2-4 years of experience required; HVAC, boiler licenses
• 4-6 years of experience preferred; building automation controls
• First class Steam and Refrigeration license issued by the city of Memphis
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in servicing HVAC equipment including rooftop air conditioning

Working Conditions
• Be able to pass physical testing requirements to wear a respirator for working around and doing minor repairs to Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) in some of our Buildings
• Knowledge of OSHA Safety Guidelines, Hazard Communication Program with the use of Personal Protected Equipment (PPE) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
• Required to have a current State issued driver license
• Be able to work from ladders, lift and carry 50 lbs.

• Good working knowledge of mechanical systems
• Proven skills to cost effectively troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems components
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings. Strong knowledge of building automation controls
• Experience repairing split-case pumps, gear drives, fans, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam boiler systems
• Experience with cooling tower treatment
• PC skills
• Technical Institute Diploma or equivalent Trade School, Military Training or work experience in an Engineering discipline

Work Schedule
Days: Monday – Friday
Time: 7:30am – 4pm
