First Horizon Summer Internship Program

The First Horizon Summer Internship Program is designed to build relationships and recruit diverse individuals from colleges and universities within our footprint for employment opportunities.

The Summer Internship Program has been developed as a 360-degree experience that provides professional experience, fosters professional development, and cultivates community involvement.

The Internship Program consists of nine weeks of professional training and mentoring by a subject matter expert in a particular field. In addition, the intern participates in networking opportunities; community service activities; a final project indicative of knowledge, skills and experience acquired; professional development workshops; and board meetings with market leaders and executives.

Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college/university with a minimum 2.75 GPA requirement, excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

NextLeader Program

The NEXTLeader program is a challenging 12-month hands-on experience in consumer banking. This elite program is critical to First Tennessee because it will develop our future leaders. As a participant of the program, you will receive dynamic training, quality coaching, high-impact mentors and will network with influential stakeholders and top executives.

During the 12 months, NEXTLeaders will complete several job rotations in order to gain knowledge and experience in critical areas such as Operations, Customer Service, Sales and Leadership. NEXTLeaders will also participate in special projects within the bank and within the community. These experiences are essential to fully understand First Tennessee culture and prepare a successful career-path. The program will help provide you the skills and competencies to become a successful leader in our consumer banking line of business. Upon graduation from the program, NEXTLeaders will be eligible for placement as a Financial Center Manager.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (average GPA of 3.0 +), ability to build rapport with people from varied backgrounds, demonstrated leadership and sales ability, general knowledge of the financial services industry, ability to travel (minimal travel), good organizational and customer service skills, excellent verbal (face-to-face and telephone) and written communication skills and interpersonal and relationship building skills.
